MP 5X series
MP 5X Series – Thread Mount pressure sensors and transmitters
MP 5X series are threaded pressures transducers, insensitive to mounting torque, to suit a wide range of applications, analogous to the MP 4X series.
These transducers are made of corrosive resistant Titanium (6AL4V). They utilize high reliability bulk type semiconductor strain gauges bonded directly to the inside surface of the machined diaphragm. The bond and housing make the sensors accurate and resistant to very harsh environments, including aggressive fluids and high vibrations. The thread mount and torque insensitivity makes them very stable for embedded applications, large pressure variations, and harsh vibrations.
In addition to our standard line of Titanium transducers, we have experience in providing sensors made of 17-4 PH steel (1.4548), 316 SS steel (1.4404), Inconel, Tantalum, Aluminum, Invar Plastics and others.
Pressure range, precision level and long-term stability can be selected depending on requirements.
Pressure on the diaphragm is applied through a hole in a UNF 10-32 threaded nose which is then converted to an electric signal proportional to the pressure. Titanium hermetic headers permit offering the MP 5X series with absolute or sealed reference options. The hermetic header is located just behind the strain gauge diaphragm section of the sensor. Sealing the sensitive gauges to an inert environment dramatically increases stability and reliability. Long term stability versions are available.
Teflon coating of the diaphragm is optional. Other coating options (water, hydrocarbon, bio-fluid repellent, etc.)

MP 56 and MP 562 miniature, low cost
Micron’s Models MP56 and MP562 are miniature, low cost, general use transducers with threaded interface. These transducers are made of corrosive resistant Titanium (6AL4V). They utilize high reliability semiconductor strain gages bonded directly to the inside surface of the machined diaphragm.
Pressure on the diaphragm is applied through the hole in the nose, which is then converted to an electric signal proportional to the pressure.
These sensors are insensitive to mounting torque.
